Roses

The author of the embroidery Roses is Terezia Tancosova. The artifact was made in 2006, during the project titled Feder dzivipe - Lepsi zivot (Better Life), implemented by the Civic Association for Support and Regional Development and the Office of the Plenipotentiary of the Slovak Government for Romani Communities, supported by the European Social Fund. In cooperation with the Office for Labour, Social Affairs and Family there were 33 unemployed Roma selected who received training; the Association then started searching for permanent jobs for them, in various professions. Some of the worked in crafts and arts workshop lead by the lecturere, the fine arts pedagogue Mgr. Miriam Kavulicova-Tomasiakova, where, besides many other aesthetic and practically used objects the above-mentioned artifact was made.
Technique: Combination of textile techniques on sololit.

Birds

Jozef Fečo is a creative artist who graduated from the Secondary School of Arts in Presov, the department of design and wood carving. The creative work started in 2011, the first piece done was a painting of Jesus, on canvas. In the year 2015, for the State Research Library, the series of 13 big format portraits of world-known personalities of the Romani origin were painted. Material: canvas. Technique: painting - tempera, acrylic colours.

The 69th premiere of the Romathan Theater, staged on March 18, 2016 at 10 a.m. in the premises of the Romathan Theater, Stefanikova street in Kosice. The fairy-tale emphasis is given to the importance of a family and good family relationships. Language: Slovak. Lyrics: Slovak, Romani. Directed by: Marian Balog. Stage setting: Juraj Vano. Music by: Karel Adam. Choregraphy: Eva Adamova. Costumes: Lenka Adamova. Milan Godla: Romathan and Its Mission

Milan Godla, the singer, translator, scriptwriter and dramaturge, started his professional career in an amateur ensemble of singers and actors in Prešov. Since 1992 he work in the Romathan Theater. His professional growth was supervised by Daniela Hivešová-Šilanová, the one of the founders of the Romathan Theater, which is the only one professional Roma theater in Slovakia and he belongs to the essential part of the ensemble. Milan Godla talks about the formation of theater, its mission and its legacy for the society.
