Jan Sajko paints the Romani motives on the wooden plates since 1986. He collects waste wood, preferably with some imperfections which determine the course of future painting. His most common motives are the faces of Romani women and girls, dances, musicians. The most used technique is tempera on wood.
Since the year 1986 Jan Sajko works as teacher of arts at Elementary School in Jarovnice.
The painting is on wooden panel with dimensions of 15,5 cm (width) x 19,5 cm (height) x 2,5 cm (thick). The upper and lower parts are cut clean. The left and right sides keep the structure of bark. The motive is a portrait of a woman with a flower in hair. The painting was created in 2010.
