The author of the the picture is the painter Jozef Fečo. The painting belongs to the collection of 10 paintings depicting the theme of the Romani Holokaust. The collection is titled Devouring. The collection of paintings was created with financial support, the scholarship provided by the Fund for Promotion of the Culture of the National Minorities in Slovak Republic.
The painting is painted with acrylic paints on canvas measuring 100 cm x 110 cm.
The title of the painting is Farewell. The author adds a caption to the painting:
"Men and young boys were loaded into cars and taken to labour camps."
Jozef Fečo is a graduate of the Secondary Art School in Prešov, majoring in design and artistic wood shaping. He is particularly interested in the mimics of human faces, their expressive value and typical personality traits. In 2015 and 2019 he created a series of 23 large-format paintings for the State Scientific Library in Prešov called Unknown Colours of Personalities.
