Jan Sajko paints the Romani motives on the wooden plates since 1986. He collects waste wood, preferably with some imperfections which determine the course of future painting. His most common motives are the faces of Romani women and girls, dances, musicians. The most used technique is tempera on wood.
Since the year 1986 Jan Sajko works as teacher of arts at Elementary School in Jarovnice.
The painting is on wood with dimensions of 31 cm (width) x 31 cm (height) x 2,5 cm (thick). Upper and lower part of wooden board are trimmed evenly, left and right side are trimmed in the 45 degrees angle. The motive is the portrait of woman with rose in hair. On the left side, above her arm the houses are pictured. The painting was painted in 2012.

The remaining sides are trimmed evenly. The motive of painting is a girl in a Romani costume in the meadow. The painting was created in 2010.

The Bethlehem

The artifact was made in 2006, during the project titled Feder dzivipe - Lepsi zivot (Better Life), implemented by the Civic Association for Support and Regional Development and the Office of the Plenipotentiary of the Slovak Government for Romani Communities, supported by the European Social Fund. In cooperation with the Office for Labour, Social Affairs and Family there were 33 unemployed Roma selected who received training; the Association then started searching for permanent jobs for them, in various professions. Some of the worked in crafts and arts workshop lead by the lecturere, the fine arts pedagogue Mgr. Miriam Kavulicova-Tomasiakova, where, besides many other aesthetic and practically used objects the above-mentioned artifact was made. The artifact's author is unknown.
