Jónás Gábor comes from Balassagyarmat in Hungary. He plays the viola in the cimbalom band. In his own musical group called Gipsy Night Trio, he plays guitar and produces dance and jazz music.

The author's project of the theater group Ara Art Dajori (Mother) is a theater performance that maps stories and themes from the life of Roma women on the background of important historical milestones of the 20th century.
The script of the play combines the dramatization of existing literary works by writers Tera Fabiánová, Eva Danišová, Ilona Ferková and Katarina Židová with the telling of authentic personal stories.
The main character was played by the actress Pavlína Matiová, who plays four female characters and their stories taking place during almost the entire century in pre-war and post-war Czechoslovakia.
The actress is supported on stage by Michal Žolták and musicians Milan Kroka, Roman Zorba Horváth and Tibor Žida.

Michal Mižigár

Michal "Mižu" Mižigár is a descendant of a Romani family from Slovakia, which moved to Czech Republic from the villages of Upper Spiš after World War II. He graduated from the Bussiness Academy in Pisek, and continued his studies at the Charles University in Prague at the Faculty of Arts, where he obtained a bachelor's degree in Roma Studies.
Currently, he is studying at the Central European University (formerly in Budapest, Hungary, later in Vienna, Austria) for a master's degree in comparative history. At the time of the interview, he worked in Great Britain in the team of the Roma of Great Abilities project, where he worked with teachers of Roma children from Czech Republic and Slovakia.

Petr Torák

Petr Torák comes from the Czech Republic, from where in 1999, after a series of racially motivated attacks, he and his whole family emigrated to Great Britain. He became a member of the local police, dealing also with the topics such as modern slavery. In 2015, he was awarded the Order of the British Empire for his dedicated work with Roma communities in Peterborough. After leaving the police, he devotes himself fully to community and charity work, and at the same time acts as the honorary consul of the Czech Republic in Peterborough.

Julius Bandy studied cimbalom at the Elementary School of Art of Mikulas Moyzes in Presov. He continued his studies at the Private Conservatory of Music and Drama in Kosice (1-4 years), which he graduated from at the end of the school year 2018-2019. He studies cimbalom at the Academy of Arts in Banská Bystrica. In the family band he plays the double bass.
The photos were taken during documentation of the family cimbalom bands in 2022. One of the photos show him and his brother Kristián Bandy.

Julius Bandy, comes from musician family. He was born in Presov. He graduated from the Elementary School for Music of Mikulas Moyzes as a cimbalom player. He also plays saxophone, double bass and harmonica. In the years 1982-1983 he played in the children folk ensemble Dubravienka in Presov. In the years 1985-1986 he was a part of the children folk ensemble Sarisancek in Presov. As 15 years old he started playing in the Theater of Alexander Duchnovic in Presov. His military service brought him to the Army Ensemble of Art Janosik in Zvolen (1993-1994). He played cimbalom in several other bands and ensembles – the Folk Band Presovcan, the Folk Ensemble Sabinovcan, the Folk Band Czardasz from Presov, the Folk Band of Jan Budyi from Humenne.
The photos were made during documentation of the family cimbalom bands in 2022.

Miroslav Rác is a pianist, music teacher, composer. For several years now, he has been working on the theme of the Roma Holocaust. As a concert artist, he played on several world stages in Europe and in Israel.
The photos document his piano recital dedicated to the victims of the Roma Holocaust.

He comes from Telgárt. He plays accordion, he is not formally educated in music. He learnt to play by himself. In the family there are mostly violinists. He also started to play violin but left it after he found out it doesn't bring him joy. His first accordion was bought to him by his grandfather. He plays in folklore ensambles Šumiačan, Telgárt and Vernár. He plays folk music, Romani music, when there is an opportunity he also plays jazz and Balkan music.
The photos were made during documentation of the Pokoš Band in the project of documentation of the Romani family cimbalom bands.
