Milan Berky (1961-) pochádza z Lučenca a väčšinu svojho života pracoval na železnici ako vozmajster. K intenzívnejšej umeleckej tvorbe sa dostal až po strate zamestnania po takmer 35 rokoch práce. Táto zmena v živote mu dala priestor na rozvoj jeho detskej vášne – kreslenia. Jeho tvorba je zameraná predovšetkým na portréty, ktoré sa vyznačujú mimoriadnou detailnosťou a realistickosťou. Používa najmä uhlík, čím dosahuje hĺbku a výraznosť čierno-bielych diel, ktoré pôsobia takmer fotograficky. Medzi jeho diela patria portréty známych osobností, ale aj portréty obyčajných ľudí, Rómov a Rómiek z kultúrno-spoločenského a športového života. Milan Berky si získal uznanie nielen na Slovensku, ale aj v zahraničí, a to aj napriek tomu, že nemá formálne umelecké vzdelanie. Získal niekoľko ocenení, vrátane prvého miesta v kategórii portrétov na medzinárodnom veľtrhu výtvarného umenia v Českých Budějoviciach (2017) a ocenenia Inspirace za prínos do kultúry (2022). Jeho kresba – portrét irackého štátnika – bola v roku 2023 použitá na poštových známkach Iraku.

Sendreiovci gypsy band

Verejné podujatie, ktoré sa uskutočnilo 9. apríla 2024 pri príležitosti Svetového dňa Rómov. Podujatie sa uskutočnilo v spolupráci s RTVS vo Veľkom štúdiu Slovenského rozhlasu na Moyzesovej ulici 7 v Košiciach a bolo realizované v rámci cyklu Živé knihy. Živými knihami boli členovia kapely Sendreiovci gypsy band.

Mnohí z nich sa nikdy nestretli. Spája ich len jedno: sú alebo boli obyvateľmi najznámejšieho slovenského sídliska Luník IX. Publikáciu predstavila autorka Klara Kohoutová a zostavovateľka ilustrácií Petra Kurutzová v diskusii s Erikou Godlovou dňa 8.9.2023 v priestoroch kaviarne Libresso v Prešove. Fotografia vznikla počas vyššie spomenutého podujatia.

Peter Balogh st. a Peter Balogh ml. sú otec a syn, obaja huslisti. Pochádzajú z Košíc. V spoločnom spomienkovom rozprávaní opisujú históriu svojej rodiny, začiatky hry na husliach, štúdium i priebeh ich hudobnej kariéry. Rozprávajú o rómskej hudbe v minulosti a súčasnosti a tiež o svojich plánoch do budúcna. Fotografia vznikla počas dokumentovania ich hudobnej produkcie.

Kvetoslava Podhradská

Kvetoslava Podhradská was born in Ostrovany nearby Sabinov. When 7 years old she together with ther family, moved to Ostrava-Poruba. She started writing when attending the secondary school. She is a member of the Club of the Romani Authors Paramisara, within the organisation Slovo 21. She is the author of several short stories in which she reflects the historical experience of her family and shares her memories of childhood. In 2022, her children's book titled Talking While Making Plum Jam was published, receiving several awards since. The memoirs mention her childhood in Slovakia as well as her life in Czech Republic. She speaks about the Romani language, about "romipen", sar chudľas te pisinel, pal lakri literarno buťi. Richard "Ricco" Šarközi

Richard Šarközi – „Ricco“ is a singer who comes from the musicians family and lives in Bratislava. He studied opera singing at the Bratislava Conservatory. In 2009, he was involved in a car accident and has been confined to a wheelchair since then. As a singer, he has made a name for himself in singing competitions together with Klaudia Farkašová in Slovakia (2014) and Hungary (2017). He became the laureate of the Kantiléna singing competition, which was held in honor of the singer Karol Duchoň. In the video, he talks about his musical roots, family, relationship with music and its contribution to the development of the nation's culture. Rastislav Zubaj works at the Office of the Plenipotentiary of the Government of the Slovak Republic for Roma Communities as the regional coordinator of the national project Field Social Work and Field Work in Municipalities with the Presence of Marginalized Roma Communities. As part of his work, he focuses on strategic planning, implementation of projects and policies aimed at improving the social and economic conditions of Roma in Slovakia. His task is to coordinate various initiatives and programs related to education, employment, housing and healthcare in Roma communities. He is engaged in the development and implementation of measures that support equal opportunities and the fight against discrimination. He actively participates in the creation and implementation of solutions that contribute to the inclusion and integration of Roma communities into society.
