Gelem, gelem
Gelem, gelem lungone dromenca,
maladilem bachtale Romenca.
Aj Romale khatar tumen aven?
Le cahrenca, bokhale čhavenca.
Jaj Romale, jaj čhavale.
Wanderd, wandered
We wandered, wanderd long roads,
Met happy Roma there.
Hey, Roma, where are you coming from,
Under the wagon sheet, with hungry children.
Hey, Romale, hey people.
Išli sme, išli
Išli sme, išli dlhými cestami,
Stretli sme šťastných Rómov.
Hej, Rómovia, odkiaľ putujete?
Pod plachtami, s hladnými deťmi.
Jaj, Rómovia, jaj, ľudkovia.
