The song Namaren man (Don't Beat Me) comes from the repertoire of a Romani singer from the former Yugoslavia, Šaban Bajramovič (April 16, 1936 - June 8, 2008), who sang it under the name Pira mange korkoro (Wandering the World Alone). The composition is composed in the specific style of Balkan Roma jazz. Performed by Sabrosa, with slight melodic and textual adjustments, it is folklorized. The vocal-instrumental group Sabrosa was formed in the village of Raslavice in the district of Bardejov. It originally consisted of three singers and instrumentalists. At present, Sabrosa performs as a sisters’ duo: Aneta Duždová - lead singer, Jana Duždová - guitar, singing.

Na čhinger man balendar.
Me som čhavo romano,

Nebite ma
Pri vode sedieť budem,
tam sa budem prechádzať.
Mám tam frajerku,
chudobnú Rómku.
Nebite ma železom,
netrhajte mi vlasy.
Ja som chlapec rómsky,
taký chudák chorý.
Pri vode sedieť budem,
tam sa budem prechádzať.
Mám tam frajerku,
chudobnú Rómku.
Nebite ma päsťami,
netrhajte mi vlasy.
Ja som chlapec rómsky,
taký chudák chorý.
Don't Beat Me
I'll sit by the water,
There I'll walk.
There's my girlfriend,
A poor Romani girl.
Don't beat me with iron sticks,
Don't tear my hair.
I'm a Romani guy,
Just a poor, sick one.
I'll sit by the water,
There I'll walk.
There's my girlfriend,
A poor Romani girl.
Don't beat me with hard fists,
Don't tear my hair.
I'm a Romani guy,
Just a poor, sick one.
