Sofiya Zahova is the director of the Vigdís International Centre for Multilingualism and Intercultural Understanding at the University of Iceland. The centre operates under the auspices of UNESCO and is an affiliated organisation of the Vigdís Finnbogadóttir Institute for Foreign Languages at the University of Iceland. Sofiya Zahova is primarily dedicated to the study and research of Romani literature in Europe and is a member of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences. She currently represents Iceland on the Steering Committee for the International Decade of Indigenous Languages 2022-2032. The interview is segmented into sections that briefly map her activities, milestones achieved and comments on the development of Romani literature. He comes from the village of Šumiac, from the family of musicians. His father's family are the Pokoš musicians from Šumiac, his mother's family the Harvans from Telgárt. These are the localities in which guitar or keyboard instruments never dominated. Instead, violin, accordion, double-bass and cimbalom were key instruments played there. He plays the double-bass, violin and accordion. He is a musical self-taught person. The Pokošovci Band plays both Slovak and Romani folklore music from the region of Horehronie.
His brothers Rado and Stano and him released the album Folk Band Pokošovci 2, which reached the 15th place in the World Music Chart Europe, in January 2020.

Kvetoslava Podhradská

Kvetoslava Podhradská was born in Ostrovany near Sabinov. She was 7 years old when, together with her family, she moved to Ostrava-Poruba. She started writing during her studies in secondary school. She is a member of the Romani Authors' Club Paramisara, the one organised by the association Slovo 21. She wrote several short stories, in them she reflects the historical experience of her family and her own childhood memories. In 2022, her children book titled Conversations Over Jam was published. Later, the book received several awards. In this memoir she talks about her childhood in Slovakia and life in Czech Republic. She also speaks about the Romani language, about romanihood, and about her first steps in literary work and her own literary creations.
