The Bihari’s Festival is the annual event taking place in Dunajska Streda. It’s organized by the Association of the Romani Musicians in Dunajska Streda and the Zhitny Ostrov Cultural and Educational Center. The whole idea was brought in by the local Romani violinist Stefan Banyak Sn., who still acts as the most active organizer. Janos Bihari (21.10.1764, Velke Blahovo, Slovakia – 26.4.1827, Budapest, Hungary) was one of the most known musical artists of the old Austrian-Hungarian Monarchy, popular at the royal court. As a violinist as well as composer, his creative work inspired the worldwide known composers of the era, such as Franz Liszt, or Ludwig van Beethoven. The digital cultural object contains the video documenting the gala program.
