Barbora Botošová - koncert Bratislava

Barbora Botošová is a daughter of Eugen Botoš Sn. (the founder of the Violin Orchestra Bratislava), the sister of Eugen Botoš Jr. (jazz piano player and composer) and the granddaughter of Ján Berky Mrenica Sn. (the concert master of SĽUK for 33 years). In 2012 Barbora Botošová graduated from the College of Performing Arts in Bratislava, violin studies with professor Peter Michalica. She took the composing course under the tutoring of Ľubica Čekovská. She is a freelance artists, playing in musical groups like the Bohémiens and Women Rebels. The video presents performance of Hungarian, Romanian, Jewish and Romani compositions, including the Slovak folk songs. The concert was recorded in the Estévéčka coffee house in Bratislava, on 7.2.2014. Tomáš Cseh – viola, Alexander Cseh – cimbalom, Ján Rigo – double bass, Barbora Botošova – violin.

Romathan - The Spririt of Music and Singing

Concert Luna

LUNA is the girls only band from Martin. Their repertoir covers both Romani and Slovak folk songs, many times they play also pop music in folk arrangment or classical music. These are the members of the band: Petra Cickova - accordeon, Božena Cickova - double bass, Michael Kazarova - violin, Stanislava Cickova - singer. Concert: Karel Adam

The concert for celebration of the World Roma Day, organized in November 27, 2017 in the Wave Club, Hlavna st., Presov. Karel Adam was the principal conductor of the Romathan Theater. Together with his colleagues he prepared the program consisting of instrumental and vocal-instrumental compositions, both from Romani traditional folk and their own works. The listeners may listen to halgato, czardasz as well as to classical music pieces.

Sabrosa - the Concert, Scala, Presov

The vocal and instrumental group Sabrosa started in the village Raslavice, district of Bardejov. Originally three singers and players, currently Sabrosa is the duo of sisters: Aneta Duzdova - the lead singer, Jana Duzdova - the guitar player, vocals.
The profile concert of Sabrosa was recorded on June 14, 2013 in Presov, in the former cinema named Scala.
The musicians supporting the Sabrosa was the folk group Cinovci from Vranov nad Toplou.

Jan Berky Mrenica and the Devilish Violin Orchestra, in cooperation with the Romani Association in Poland presented the concert named Music Without Borders. There played Jan Berky-Mrenica, The Devilish Violin Orchestra, Jozef Mernstein Jochymczyk from Poland and the students of the Private Middle School in Kezmarok. The concert was recorded on 2nd of December, 2013 in Kezmarok.

Balvalfest (The Wind Festival)

Every year the organisers of the festival invite the performers both from Slovakia and other countries. The Bihari's Festival 2013

The Bihari’s Festival is the annual event taking place in Dunajska Streda. It’s organized by the Association of the Romani Musicians in Dunajska Streda and the Zhitny Ostrov Cultural and Educational Center. The whole idea was brought in by the local Romani violinist Stefan Banyak Sn., who still acts as the most active organizer. Janos Bihari (21.10.1764, Velke Blahovo, Slovakia – 26.4.1827, Budapest, Hungary) was one of the most known musical artists of the old Austrian-Hungarian Monarchy, popular at the royal court. As a violinist as well as composer, his creative work inspired the worldwide known composers of the era, such as Franz Liszt, or Ludwig van Beethoven. The digital cultural object contains the video documenting the gala program.

Jozef Ferko and Dasha Pollakova

The performance was documented on the Small Stage of the Theatre of Alexander Duchnovič in Prešov. The performance contains Romani songs traditional, as well as self-composed by Ondrej Ferko, Jozef Ferko and by the band Kmeťoband. The songs, both solo and duets, are sung by Dáša Polláková and Jozef Ferko. Author and performer of a guitar accompaniment is Jozef Ferko. Both of the interprets belong among the active members of the Romathan Theatre in Košice.

Art for Diversity

Recording of live performance, Wave Club, November 7, 2015. The concert titled Art for diversity is the unique project, presenting beauties, uniqueness and mutual relations between the various minority cultures within one evening. The compositions of the Romani, Jewish, Hungarian, Polish, Russian, Serbian, Ruthenian and Bulgarian origins, influenced by very popular world music style, were played during the concert. All compositions are founded in the folk music of the national minorities, the were played in the specific, author's made arrangements. The leading musician of the band at the concert is a young first violinist, Barbora Botosova, the grand-daughter of the legendary musician Jan Berky Mrenica senior, and daughter of Eugen Botos. Agata Siemaszko - a singer, Marek Koncek - a violin, Jan Sivak - cimbalom, viola, Maros Sivak - a guitar, Tomas Gaspierik - contrabass.
