Kvetoslava Podhradská

Kvetoslava Podhradská was born in Ostrovany nearby Sabinov. When 7 years old she together with ther family, moved to Ostrava-Poruba. She started writing when attending the secondary school. She is a member of the Club of the Romani Authors Paramisara, within the organisation Slovo 21. She is the author of several short stories in which she reflects the historical experience of her family and shares her memories of childhood. In 2022, her children's book titled Talking While Making Plum Jam was published, receiving several awards since. The memoirs mention her childhood in Slovakia as well as her life in Czech Republic. She speaks about the Romani language, about "romipen", sar chudľas te pisinel, pal lakri literarno buťi. Richard "Ricco" Šarközi

Richard Šarközi – „Ricco“ is a singer who comes from the musicians family and lives in Bratislava. He studied opera singing at the Bratislava Conservatory. In 2009, he was involved in a car accident and has been confined to a wheelchair since then. As a singer, he has made a name for himself in singing competitions together with Klaudia Farkašová in Slovakia (2014) and Hungary (2017). He became the laureate of the Kantiléna singing competition, which was held in honor of the singer Karol Duchoň. In the video, he talks about his musical roots, family, relationship with music and its contribution to the development of the nation's culture. The Sendreis Gypsy Band - Romanies are Coming

The founders of the Sendreiovci Gypsy Band are Vladimír Sendrei and his wife Jana Sendreiová. They founded the Band in 2001 in the village of Kokava nad Rimavicou, the band's original name was Kokavakere lavutara. Their work caught the attention of film music composer Hans Zimmer and became part of the soundtrack of the film Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows. The Band's music also enriched the soundtrack of the Czech film titled Roming.
Jana Sendreiová achieved her personal success when in 2005 she performed together with other soloists at a concert in New York at Carnegie Hall, accompanied by the Roma band Anyalai Gypsy Band.
The song Roma aven was presented on 9.4.2024 during an event from the Live Books series, which took place on the occasion of World Roma Day at RTVS, the Big Studio of Slovak Radio in Košice.

Jozef Ferko graduated from the Secondary School of Arts in Košice. He has been working at the Romathan Theater since 1993 as an actor and musician. He has established and maintains musical cooperation with many other bands and artists, and also develops his own projects. Rastislav Zubaj works at the Office of the Plenipotentiary of the Government of the Slovak Republic for Roma Communities as the regional coordinator of the national project Field Social Work and Field Work in Municipalities with the Presence of Marginalized Roma Communities. As part of his work, he focuses on strategic planning, implementation of projects and policies aimed at improving the social and economic conditions of Roma in Slovakia. His task is to coordinate various initiatives and programs related to education, employment, housing and healthcare in Roma communities. He is engaged in the development and implementation of measures that support equal opportunities and the fight against discrimination. He actively participates in the creation and implementation of solutions that contribute to the inclusion and integration of Roma communities into society.

Vojtech Bunda
