The photos of the monodrama titled The Gypsy Boxer. The topic is the real life story of the Romani boxer Johann Trollmann, the German champion of 1933 in middleweight cathegory. His Romani origin was a reason why he was stripped of the title, later.
In 1943 he was murdered in the concentration camp in Neuengamm. The monodrama was produced by The BuranTheater from Brno, Czech Republic, the character of the Romani boxer was portrayed by Filip Teller.

The premiere of the children´s performance "The mysterious world and the Fuzzies" was played by Romathan theatre. The fairy-tale inscenation offers to the audience the look into the imaginative world of the forest kingdom, reigned by the queen "Bachtaľori". In a fairy tale a young spectator reveals the secrets of a good and love on a background of an evil and intrigues being enacted both in a Mysterious world, as well as in a world of humans. The genre: a fairy-tale with a songs;The language of performance: Slovak primary, Romani secondary; The scenery: classical stage properties, the play is not interactive, but performative. Cast: Karel Adam, Oto Bunda, Milan Godla, Marián Balog, and others.

Romathan Newly Dressed

The 65th premiere of Romathan Theatre was marked as in "a new dress". Musical and dance performance was linked with a traditional Romani psalms and dances, which are the carriers of a deep idea of Romani inner feelings and felowship and which bring the audience to the world of Roma (music, dance, singing). The orchestral background of the performance has its own separate outputs, which shows the interconnection and the multiculturalism of the nations in Europe.

Photos from a feature-length production called Love Lost. The drama is from the 19th century, it takes place in the Roumanian environment and shows the relationship of nomadic Roma with the Count. The author and director of the play is Žaneta Štipáková, a soloist of the Romathan Theater. It was the 74th premiere, which took place in the theater on April 20, 2018.

The Live Libraries, as a method, offer an opportunity to know the personal stories of interesting people, who are almost unknown to the majority audience. The purpose is to promote the identity of Romani national minority and on the other side to introduce the Romani people as an national minority with a rich cultural tradition. The second of a series "Live Books 2015" organized by State Scientific Library in Prešov, held on 22. June 2015 in Wave Club in Prešov, this time discussing about the Romani music in Slovakia. The main guest was music producer, composer, pianist Eugen Vizváry, one of the most requested Slovak musician, who devotes to the music genres of Jazz, Funky, Fusion Rock, Pop, Hip-Hop, R&B, Country, Classic. The event was accompanied by the Cimbalom folk Ensemble - Ďusi Band from Prešov (Július Bandy Sr., Július Bandy Jr., Peter Ferko, Kristián Bandy + Samko Bandy) and singers Žaneta Štipáková and Vanessa Siváková.

Ján Berky Mrenica – portrait

Ján Berky Mrenica junior, one of the members and since 1997 also the head of the Devil´s violin Orchestra, belongs among the prominent violin virtuosos in Slovakia. He studied the violin play on Conservatory Bratislava, but he is also engaged in writing the books about the most famous Romani songs. He utilized his musical talent for composing the musical arrangements for a CD of Devil´s Violin, but also for the other various folk ensembles. He supports musically talented children from socially disadvantaged environment, his effort grew into a well-known project called Divé Maky (Wild Poppies). The photographs documents the interview with Ján Berky Mrenica Jr., where he speaks about the music as a representative of the emotions and the harmony and which address people regardless of nationality or ethnicity.
