Sofiya Zahova is the director of the Vigdís International Centre for Multilingualism and Intercultural Understanding at the University of Iceland. The centre operates under the auspices of UNESCO and is an affiliated organisation of the Vigdís Finnbogadóttir Institute for Foreign Languages at the University of Iceland. Sofiya Zahova is primarily dedicated to the study and research of Romani literature in Europe and is a member of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences. She currently represents Iceland on the Steering Committee for the International Decade of Indigenous Languages 2022-2032. The interview is segmented into sections that briefly map her activities, milestones achieved and comments on the development of Romani literature. The co-organisers were the Centre of Social and Psychological Sciences of the Slovak Academy of Sciences and the Institute of Roma Studies of the University of Prešov. The conference was held on 7 and 8 December, 2023 in five panels, with a total of 23 papers. The hybrid format allowed the participation of scientists from abroad.

Prof. Hristo Kyuchukov: The Psycholinguistic Research of the Romani Language

The third year of the conference titled The Current State of Romani Studies III; the organizer was the State Scientific Library in Prešov, a documentation and information center of Romani culture. The Center of Social and Psychological Sciences of the Slovak Academy of Sciences and the Institute of Roma Studies of the Prešov University in Prešov collaborated. It was held on 1-2 December 2022 at the University of Prešov. The hybrid form enabled the participation of scientists from abroad as well. There were 23 contributions in five panels.
Lecture by prof. Hristo Kyuchukov (University of Silesia, Katowice, Poland) presented an overview of the progress of psycholinguistic research on the Romani language, its results and impact on the further assessment of speech development of the children from various Romani communities. The video was recorded on 1/12/2022.
