Living Book Holocaust Ďusi band Schindler's List

The family band called Ďusi Band consists of Július Bandy Sr. and his three sons Kristián, Július, and the youngest Samuel. The cimbalom band from Prešov presents the best tradition of the Romani cimbalom groups with the high interpretive art of their members as well as the scope and genre richness of their repertoire. It consists of folklore typically Romani but also Slovak and other nations‘ and nationalities‘, the band also plays classical music and does well in playing music of the genres such as jazz, pop or film tunes. The performance of the composition I Could Have Done More was recorded during the Living Book on the Holocaust event, in Prešov, on September 27, 2018.

The Gypsy Devils - The Concert

The Gypsy Devils as a group of Romani musicians report 1991 as the year of birth of this formation. They are characterized by a excellent, even virtuoso interpretation of Romani music from the urban environment, classical world music, but they do not avoid cooperation with contemporary artists known from popular music. The orchestra performs often both in Slovakia and abroad, it has already played on five continents. At the concert in Prešov on 24.10.2013 in the Cinema Scala the orchestra members playing there were: singing and violoncello - Silvia Šarköziová, viola - Jozef Farkaš, double bass - Tibor Lévai, solo doublebass - Alexander Mihok, violin - Emil Hasala, clarinet and tarogato - Zoltán Grunza , cimbalom - Ernest Šarközi, primash (violin) - Štefan "Picur" Banyák.

Romathan in New Dress - Anitra's Dance

The 65th premiere of the Romathan Theater was arranged in "new dress". Music and dance performances alternated with traditional Romani halgato and songs. The Romathan Theater Orchestra performs special parts emphasizing the interconnections between various cultures in Europe. One of the Orchestra performances is the classical composition by Norwegian composer Edvard Grieg, Anitra's Dance. It is the incidental music composed in 1876 for the verse drama by Henrik Ibsen titled Peer Gynt. First staged in 02/1876 in Kristiania, nowadays Oslo in Norway.
