Michal Mižigár

Michal "Mižu" Mižigár is a descendant of a Romani family from Slovakia, which moved to Czech Republic from the villages of Upper Spiš after World War II. He graduated from the Bussiness Academy in Pisek, and continued his studies at the Charles University in Prague at the Faculty of Arts, where he obtained a bachelor's degree in Roma Studies.
Currently, he is studying at the Central European University (formerly in Budapest, Hungary, later in Vienna, Austria) for a master's degree in comparative history. At the time of the interview, he worked in Great Britain in the team of the Roma of Great Abilities project, where he worked with teachers of Roma children from Czech Republic and Slovakia. The interview is abour his life, work and knowledge received so far.

Laci Nitra - Aďes aba me maťuvav

Miroslav Pokoš

He comes from the village of Šumiac, from the family of musicians. His father's family are the Pokoš musicians from Šumiac, his mother's family the Harvans from Telgárt. These are the localities in which guitar or keyboard instruments never dominated. Instead, violin, accordion, double-bass and cimbalom were key instruments played there. He plays the double-bass, violin and accordion. He is a musical self-taught person. The Pokošovci Band plays both Slovak and Romani folklore music from the region of Horehronie.
His brothers Rado and Stano and him released the album Folk Band Pokošovci 2, which reached the 15th place in the World Music Chart Europe, in January 2020.

Daniel Pokoš

Daniel Pokoš comes from a family with a strong musical tradition. He was taught to play the violin by his father and grandfather, he also learned by listening to violinists from Horehronie.
