Štefan Banyák (1938-) is a Roma musician, playing the violin. He founded the Orchestra of Roma Musicians in Dunajská Streda, currently Bihári Orchestra, and he is the main organizer of Bihári festival held in Dunajská Streda every year. The musician is a chairman of the Civil Association (CA) of Roma Musicians in Dunajská Streda. At present, he works mainly with young Roma musicians and at the same time he actively performs at various music events.

Milan Godla: Romathan and Its Mission

Milan Godla, the singer, translator, scriptwriter and dramaturge, started his professional career in an amateur ensemble of singers and actors in Prešov. Since 1992 he work in the Romathan Theater. His professional growth was supervised by Daniela Hivešová-Šilanová, the one of the founders of the Romathan Theater, which is the only one professional Roma theater in Slovakia and he belongs to the essential part of the ensemble. Milan Godla talks about the formation of theater, its mission and its legacy for the society.

Kmeťoband - real romani music

Kmeťoband - the group founded in 1999 by Igor Kmeťo Sr. and Igor Kmeťo Jr. They are father and son. Kmeťo Sr. is also the manager of group, Kmeťo Jr. plays the synthesizer, saxophone, he sings and he´s also making own musical arrangements. Their songs are based on the life experiences and situations, such as love, sorrow, life of youngsters. They became well-known also thanks to the successful cooperation with famous rapper "Rytmus". The songs are full of temperament and emotions. The genre of their music falls into the cathegory of rom-pop with a dominance of dance music. The interview reflects personal opinions of Igor Kmeťo Sr. and Igor Kmeťo Jr. about Romani music, its various forms, history, its development and current trends.
