Duo Farsa, Marco Pillo - A Night in Ankara

The instrumental composition A Night in Ankara is the authors' composition by Frantisek Godla and Dusan Onody, the members of the guitar players under the label Duo Farsa. The motivation behind the composition is their stay in Turkey. Duo Farsa plays their own, highly emotional compositions of more genres, mainly influenced by the Spanish rhythms of flamenco. The performance is specific by participation of Marco Pillo (a musician, singer and composer), who plays the cajon. The video was recorded on 31st of March, 2014 in the Jonas Zaborsky Theater's Small Scene as a part of the presentation of the book of poems by Dusan Onody: For You, Only You.

Stanislav Cina - The Wood-curver

Stanislav Cina's short talk about carving in a pastoral center in the village of Čičava. The Roma Pastoral Center covers the formation and missionary service in the Roma communities, especially in the Vranov district. Through the Civic Association Hot Team, they implemented a project of a protected workshop in 2012, employing handicapped Roma from Vranov nad Topľou. Within the sheltered workshops, they have been devoting themselves to the works of wood-curving under the direction of Milan Krajniak. Their main inspiration was taken from the religious themes.

Šarlota Bottová - The Portrait of the Painter

Šarlota Bottová (1989-) is an artist from Rimavská Baňa in Hnúšťa. She graduated from the Secondary Technical School in Rimavska Sobota, in the cosmetics department. In the field of fine arts, her main focus is drawing the portraits. Šarlota Bottová exhibited her works in Prague (2016) in the gallery Phundrado vudar (Open Doors), at the exhibition of amateur Roma artists AraArt, in Košice (2017) in the Važecká Exchanger, in Hnúšta (2017) at the Library of Prof. Štefan Pasiar and in Rimavská Baňa. The drawing depicts the portrait of the British actor, musician and writer James Hugh Calum Laurie.

Adela Orgovánová - Reminiscence

Adela Orgovánová (1936-) was born in Presov, a town she lived in all her lifetime. At 8 years old she survived the bombing of Presov by the Soviet Army. The bombardment happened on 20th of December, 1944 and took more than 70 minutes. There's no exact number of victims known, officially 140 persons were buried in Presov. She speaks about life in Presov during the WWII and after the war - speaks about her family, childhood, her youth and work, as well as about her efforts, poverty, friendships and values.

Marco Pillo - Enamorado soy

Marco Pillo studied at Conservatory in Prague, his main subject was cimbalom. Later he also learnt playing the classical guitar. When studying in Barcelona he was introduced to the local Romani style flamenco, what greatly influenced his later performance. The digital cultural object is the video recording of him interpreting the song Enamorado soy (I am in love) composed by Canut Reyes (originally Francois Reyes) in 1989 for his first solo album Bolero, issued in the same year. The songs of the album were meant as a tribute to the composer Maurice Ravel.

When studying in Barcelona he was introduced to the local Romani style flamenco, what greatly influenced his later performance. The digital cultural object is the video recording of him interpreting the Buleria composition. “Bulería” is the most characteristic flamenco style of Jerez de la Frontera (the hometown of flamenco, Andalusia, Spain). It is generally composed of three or four eight-syllable verses. This is one of the most complex dancing and guitar styles: bustling, happy and cheerful. Bulerías constitute an usuall dance to finish all flamencos parties.

Michal Bársony - Fine Arts

Born in the village Kunova Teplica, the district of Roznava. The family spoke Hungarian, and kept the tradition of smithery and music. He graduated from the Pedagogical Faculty of Matej Bel University in Banska Bystrica, specialzed in fine arts and Russian language. The post-gradual studies completed at the Pedagogical Faculty of University of Constantine the Philosopher in Nitra, awarded with the title PeadDr. His main creation is painting and drawing, with prevailing themes of the sacral nature, as well as some women portraits and landscapes. As a pedagogue worked at several elementary and secondary schools, as well as at universities. He also worked for the State Institute Of Pedagogy.

Tomáš Botló - „I am Fine“

Tomáš Botló - a singer and musician, playing amateur guitar, playing piano mostly, studied at the State conservatory in Bratislava. He writes his own songs, he built his recording studio at home where he proved being an excellent sound mixer. Tomas mixis Romani music with modern genres such as jazz, funk, hip-hop, latino, flamenco, pop and this kind of genre syncretism makes him multi-cultural and multi-genre musician. He cooperated with several Slovak as well as foreign rappers and artists. The song sung by Tomáš Botló "I am fine" is a cover version /Zámbó Jimmy/. Lyrics by Tomáš Botló. The song is sung with guitar playing, at the social hall of the cultural house in Hubice, district of Dunajská Streda.

Miroslav Rác - "Magic"

Miroslav Rác is a graduate of Music Conservatory in Topolcany, where he studied piano. He uses a stage name B.G. and he plays so called gangster romano hip-hop style. He plays the piano since he was 13 years old. Nowadays he acts as a singer, rapper, songs composer, also as a composer of an instrumental compositions for piano. The song was played on a Jazz concert, which was documented in a Cultural Center Hall in a Želiezovce village. Instrumental composition "Magic" is a self composed creation of Miroslav Rác. The drum solo played by Miroslav Talpáš and bass guitar solo played by Anton Bukai.
