Lenka Goroľová

Lenka Goroľová lives in the village of Hlinné, district of Vranov nad Topľou. She attended the elementary school in Hlinné, late in the neighbouring village Soľ. She received her secondary education at the State Grammar School (currently renamed as The Cyril Daxner Secondary Grammar School) in Vranov nad Topľou. She graduated from the Catholic University in Ružomberok as a teacher of the Slovak language and literature and Philosophy. After that she started working as the field social worker in Hlinné, then the teacher assistant in Soľ, later on she spent some years teaching Slovak and Romani languages at the Private Secondary Pedagogical and Social Academy in Košice. Currently, she is a teacher of the Romani language at Prešov University in Prešov, The Institute of the Romani Studies.
In the interview she speaks about her personal and professional life and studies since her childhood until present days.The interview was recorded on July 6, 2021 in the Romani Studies Room of the State Sciencetific Library in Prešov.

Marco Pillo

Marco Pillo - musician, singer, composer. At the Prague Conservatory he studied cimbalom, later guitar. During his studies in Barcelona, Spain, he met with the local Romani flamenco music culture, what later became highly influential factor in his creative work in the field of music. Teri Čikoš

Teri Čikoš comes from Bratislava based family of musician dedicated to music for generations already. She carries on and continues the tradition successfully. She plays the piano, guitar, she is a student of Music and Dramatic Arts at the Conservatory. In the same time she is a teacher of singing at the Elementary School of Arts. Her single titled Pozri (Look) achieved a place among top ten most played songs on Slovak radio stations. She gives concerts with her own music group, moderates and keeps making a well designed place for herself in the field of pop culture in Slovakia. In the video interview, she talks about her family, her beginnings as a singer, the discovery of her Roma identity, and plans for the future.

Adriana Drafiová

Adriana Drafiová, known under the stage name Gitana, is a singer of Roma origin. As a performer, she has a strong vocal expression, performing mainly thedance and rom-pop music; currently expanding her profile as a music composer. In recent years, she recorded several successful collaborations with well-known artists of the mainstream Slovak and Czech music scene. In the interview she shares information about her family background, first steps of her carreer, music and sources of inspiration for her own works, and the topics of romipen and the Romani language as well.The interview was recorded on November 19, 2021 in Prešov, at the Wave Club - Center for Independent Culture.

Štefan Vavrek

Štefan Vavrek is a teacher by profession (mathematics and ethical education), a graduate of the University of Constantine the Philosopher in Nitra. He taught in the town of Tornaľa. In 2007, he co-founded an association of mentors for Romani pupils called Tanoda, later he continued the educational activities in the Ternipe organization based in Rimavská Seč.
He started in politics at the local level as the mayor of Rimavská Seč, in 2018 he became a member of the National Council of the Slovak Republic (The Slovak Parliament) for the political party Most-Híd. His main agenda was education and regional development. In the interview, he talks about political, national and personal topics.

Ľudovít Petík

Ľudovít Petík comes from well-known musical family, the members of which used to play and, simultaneously, do certain crafts. This stays with the family even today. Ľudovít himself played and all 45 years of his productive live worked as a driver; the last 30 of them as a bus driver of MHD (The City Mass Transportation Enterprise) in Prešov.

The Live Book - Lomnické čháve

Lomnické čháve is the rom-pop band with Milan Polhoš as the lead musician and singer and managed by Tomáš Slebodník. Their repertoir includes mainly the Romani folk songs and songs from other nations. The band's performance is in pop style, using electronic music instruments. The video documents the interview with the members of the band and their manager which was recorden on July 8, 2020 in Prešov, in the Center for Independent Culture Wave.

Maristella - About Family and Elena Lacková

Sister Maristella, by civic name Mária Kačová, is a nun of the Congregatio Jesu, the catholic female congregation known by popular name as „The English Virgins“. Sister Maristella lives in Prešov, helping the abused women, mothers with children and homeless people. She organizes charity where people donate food and clothing. For decades she has been an organist in the concathedral of St. Nicholas in Prešov. In 2009 she received the City of Prešov Award. Her father was a musician, a member of The Dukla Folk Art Ensemble (PUĽS). She is the niece of the first Romani writer in Slovakia, Elena Lacková.

Štefan Bučko

Štefan Bučko comes from Banská Bystrica. He is a member of the folk music group of Alexander Daško, where he plays the accordion. For more than twenty years he played and sang in well-known music halls in Slovakia. He put his music career aside and began working as a bus driver. Ľudovít Petík

Ľudovít Petík pochádza zo známej muzikantskej rodiny, kde bolo zvykom hrať a popri tom mať v rukách remeslo. Sám Ľudovít sa venoval hudbe a prakticky celý život, okrem toho pracoval 45 rokov ako vodič, z toho ostatných 30 rokov riadil autobusy Mestskej hromadnej dopravy v Prešove. Vo svojom rozprávaní sa vracia do svojich detských liet, spomína na rozprávania svojho starého otca a otca, ktorí prežili obdobie prvej a druhej svetovej vojny.
Rozprávanie je členené do šiestich častí: PRVÁ SVETOVÁ VOJNA; STARÍ RODIČIA – ŽIVOT V RAŽŇANOCH; STARÍ RODIČIA – PÔVOD STAREJ MAMY; DRUHÁ SVETOVÁ VOJNA;  OTEC AKO PARTIZÁN; PRIMÁŠ V KONCENTRAČNOM TÁBORE.
