Chameleon Girl

The photos from the monodrama performance of the play Chameleon Girl.

The monodrama produced by The Independent Theater Hungary. Screenplay: Marton Illés, Director: Tomás Szegedi, Acting: Emília Lovas. The story of a Romani girl growing up in a world consisting of her family, school, the wider society. A girl with special abilities can read the thoughts and memories of people around her. She does not want to follow the example of others, rather decides to live life in her way.

The story of the superhero is based on the true stories of Roma youth and the environment from which these youth come. These stories were recorded at workshops of the Independent Theater of Hungary organized under the name "Roma Heroes". The record was created: 28.02.2020, Wave club - center of independent culture, Prešov.

Jozef Vidlička

Jozef Vidlička speaking about poverty and life of people in Eastern Slovakia, especially Roma in the years after WWII. He spent bigger and better part of his life  in Czech Republic. In the region of Sudety, after repatriation of Germans, he and his parents worked. There he also spent two years of the obligatory military service. After the so-called velvet revolution he and his family came back to his birth place in Slovakia.

Arpád Farkaš je učiteľom hudby na Základnej umeleckej škole v Rožňave, odbor klavír. Arpád Farkaš Kvartet je hudobné zoskupenie, ktoré založil a vedie. Venujú sa džezovým hudobným žánrom, účinkujú na džezových festivaloch, klubových aj javiskových koncertoch aj súkromných podujatiach. Ich repertoár tvoria džezové štandardy a vlastná tvorba. Sabrosa - I Went to Czechia

The song I Went to Czechia belongs Romani dancing folk songs. The video records the Sabrosa group performing this very song. The vocal-instrumental group Sabrosa began in Raslavice, the village in Bardejov district. Originally created by three singers and instrumentalists, nowadays Sabrosa changed into the sisters' duo: Aneta Duzdova - leading singer, Jana Duzdova - guitar player, singer.

Sabrosa - Romani Girl

Romani Girl is a song still considered the anthem of Slovak Roma. It relates to the period of the Second World War and the suffering of the Roma in labor and concentration camps. It's a slow and sad song. The Sabrosa band retains the rhythm and character of this song. The vocal-instrumental group Sabrosa was formed in the village of Raslavice in the district of Bardejov. It originally consisted of three singers and instrumentalists. At present, Sabrosa performs as a sister duo: Aneta Duždová - lead singer, Jana Duždová - guitar, singing.Musicians: Július Hudi (dulcimer), Alexander Bunda (viola), Vojto Bunda (double-bass), Miloš Goroľ (violin).
