Dušan Deme was born into a musical family in Lučenec. His grandfather brought him to music, since early childhood. He played the piano from the age of 6, later he also studied at an Elementary Art School. He also studied singing. Since the age of 14, he has been making a living from music by performing at various events, later he worked on various ocean liners as a pianist and singer. He is particularly inclined towards Romani music, folk songs, jazz and older Slovak dance music. In the interview, in addition to memories of his family, he also talks about what he thinks about contemporary Romani music, the future of traditional cimbalom bands in Slovakia, his work in the Roland Horváth Orchestra, but also about the Romani language and culture.

Milan Mižič

Ing. Milan Mižič is a mechanical engineer originally from the village of Bijacovce. He invested his talent in building one of the first private engineering companies in our country after 1989. His business activities were directed to the field of shipbuilding and ship equipment. At the end of the 1990s, his company was the third largest employer in Košice. This was followed by involvement in political life, for several years he was the chairman of the Roma Civic Initiative, the most important political Roma party at the time. In the interview, he charts his life from childhood to the present. For the purposes of documentation and further processing, the Art Society, s.r.o. provided a recording of the interview free of charge.

Csaba Horváth

Štefan Vansač

Štefan Vansač comes from Spišská Nová Ves. He studied cimbalom at the Conservatory in Košice. Currently he teaches music at the Elementary School of Arts in Spišská Nová Ves as well as at the Elementary School of Arts in Smižany. He is a member of the Štefan Cína’s Folklore Band since 2015, the band recorded a CD called Ja chlapec chudobni/I am a Poor Guy. The band composed and recorded part of soundtrack of the Slovak film Loli paradička/Red Tomato. The band also recorded the CDs of the Folklore Ensemble Orgonina, and the Folklore Group Jamničan. Together with the band, they took part in several large TV programs, in 2017 it was the TV show Zem spieva/The Earth Sings, in 2018 Československo má talent/Czechoslovakia has Talent.
